According to the technological relationship between the time of its coming out, there are three main structures:
1. Lens embedded type
The initial technology of reflective film came out in 1937. It is embedded in transparent resin with glass beads, and it is widely used in traffic signs after the return reflection with glass beads for road marking and underlying metal coating.
2. Sealed capsule type
It is a kind of improved exposure reflective film. It will be exposed to the glass beads for road marking with sealed capsules, glass beads and air sealed together. In this way, the direction of the light in and out of the glass bead and the protective capsule can be corrected, the unidirectional refraction loss can be removed, the problem that the surface of the glass bead is easy to condense dew due to the temperature difference between the internal and external environment of the reflective glass beads can be solved, the reflective efficiency can be greatly improved, and the reflective film has better wide-angle reflective performance.
3. Micro prism
At present, the most advanced reflective materials in performance and production technology are used in the reflective films. Among the I, II, III, IV and V films, there are reflective films using micro prism technology.
In general, the micro prism reflective film has excellent performance, high reflective efficiency, and controllable reflective angle, distance and direction. Even for the same type of reflective film, when the cost is close, the micro prism reflective film will have superior reflective performance and construction convenience, superior weather resistance, and low energy consumption and emission in the production process.
Traffic sign is an important facility to indicate and control traffic. Therefore, it should have good photometric performance no matter in the day or night, especially at night, it is expected to have the same visibility and conspicuity as in the day. This requires that the sign reflective film has the standard retroreflective coefficient and chromaticity performance with a good wide angle.
